What’s Your Excuse?

How often do you make excuses not to do something or avoid facing up to something?

I’m guilty of doing that too but do you know what?  I learned to start to override the voice inside my head that gave me the excuses not to do something.  I’ve never been confident on camera but I made a conscious decision to overcome the fear by just getting on and doing it.  I’ve struggled [definitely!] but it slowly started to get better after about a thirty attempts ….

The trouble with excuses is that they start to become second nature until we get to a point where we don’t really even question them anymore.  I’ve made excuses about why I didn’t start my online digital marketing journey earlier.  I told myself I was too old and too non-technical yet every day I see people kicking ass who are in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond.

If we allow our minds to become closed off to opportunity, we become closed off to life.  Everything is happening at a million miles an hour and this can be frightening for some people.

The new Pokemon game has recently taken the world by storm as people chase monsters all over the country even missing trains and nearly getting knocked down into the bargain. This has come out of the blue as a new phenomenon and it has both excited and enraged people.

But, there are lessons we can learn from technological advances because they can work in our favour.   I heard a church leader on the radio the other day saying they are happy about the Pokemon craze because it means that young people are visiting churches even if it is just to catch a Pokemon monster.  This is an example of putting a positive spin on something that many have condemned.

Moving with the times is often difficult and I am the first to admit that I was reluctant to join social media [yes, shock horror, I know].  But, I wouldn’t be without it now as it has introduced me to a vast number of people across the world I would otherwise not have met.  If used in the right way, technology and its advances can quite literally be life changing.

Ask yourself an honest question.

What are you making excuses about in your life?

Excuses breed regret and so I urge you to move away from those excuses so you can move forward into a life filled with opportunity and abundance.  I would love to help you on your journey and to lose your excuses once and for all.

I wish you every success for your digital future!
