Trust Your Gut

Trust Your Gut

I’m by no means psychic but I do seem to have the uncanny ability to ‘see through’ people and establish whether they’re a decent sort of person.  I sense fakery and vacuousness a mile off where others seem not to.  Some people call it a curse, others call it a gift.  I prefer the latter!

I know you should never judge a book by its cover but sometimes I get an overwhelming feeling in my gut that I just can’t explain.  I’ve had the ability since I was a child and my mom has since told me that she could tell when I was weighing someone up just by the look on my face.  I don’t really remember doing it back then but as sure as hell know when I’m doing it now!  I suppose you’d call it my paranormal filter or radar system.  What’s more, I can never switch it off …

I just can’t help myself because it’s as if a greater power is working within me that I have no control over.  I suppose you could say that I must be feeling someone’s energy, that invisible aura that we all have and put out there into the universe.  That’s why I’m fascinated by The Law of Attraction I guess.

Sometimes, I really just want to shout out, ‘Can’t you feel it too?!’ at the top of my voice because I feel things so clearly.   Over the years I have been proved right time and time again.  People will say to me, ‘Rachel, but how did you know …?’ and all I can ever say is that ‘I just know’.

There are so many things people want to hide from us and sometimes that’s not a bad thing.  After all, we have to apply a certain amount of filter throughout the day otherwise life would just get plain embarrassing.  We all have certain habits, rituals and routines that are for our own private consumption, they make us who we are and nobody else needs to know.

However, when it comes to relationships, both personal and business, I like total transparency.  One of my favorite sayings is, ‘Just get to the point’.  Don’t sugarcoat, don’t beat around the bush, no smoke and mirrors – thank you.

I can’t stand it when people fudge the truth in order to further their own ends.  Whether you love it or loathe it, I will say it as it is.  People respect the truth and I will always give my truthful opinion if it is requested of me.  Some people don’t like it but I’d rather be straight up about a situation and confront it head on, it’s just the way I am.

I recall somebody once saying to me that they wanted to be ‘liked by everyone’.  For me, I believe it’s impossible because differing opinions/attractions are what make the world go round.  Different people like/want different things.   Some people don’t like me and I’m fine with that.  ‘What I know for sure’ [to quote one of my favorite ladies, Oprah] is that I am a good person and I can meet my maker with my head held high.  I don’t say that in a self righteous way.  It is said with humility and honesty because it is the truth.

Trusting your gut is trusting something you can’t see or maybe even understand but that’s not to say you shouldn’t believe in it.  A mother’s instinct, for example, has been proved over medical opinion time and time again.

I encourage you to trust your gut and let it lead you to a better life!

I wish you every success for your digital future!
